Christmas Break!

I'm finally getting a *ahem* break *ahem* from school. Here's what's happened so far...

1) My home-church is starting a new worship service in January called Beyond. I finished the website for it last week. I don't really like all of the flash stuff so an HTML page is in the works.

2) I've been working on a few video projects for the launch I'll post them later. My editing software was limited (iMovie) until Eric, the executive pastor for Beyond, heard of my interest in Communications ( I hope to eventually be a Creative Arts pastor ). So "badabing" Adobe Production Studio is in the mail. HUGE!!!! I can hardly wait to be confused to death with keyframes, vectors, and fractals. (Adobe Total Training soon to be ordered..LOL) If anyone knows of good tutorial sites for After Effects or Premiere, feel free to comment.

3) Beyond also ordered a new camera I can't wait to get my hands on: Panasonic AGDVC30 3-CCD DV Proline

Free Vista or Office 2007?

Free Vista or Office 2007?

This is very interesting. Guess I'll find out in mid-March if it's legit.

Ironically, and I'm sure it's only coincidence :0 , the symbol on the top left of the home page bears a striking resemblance to the Universal application logo that Apple uses. This is the Powertogether logo, this is the Apple Universal logo. I guess if you can't innovate you imitate.

****UPDATE**** Apparently the link for T-Minus Vol. 3 is broken, but you can navigate through the Simply Youth Ministry's website to find it.

happy halloween

Wind Symphony concert in Henderson Auditorium. They're playing songs such as the Pink Panther theme and Super Mario Bros. It should be an interesting and fun show.

Hey everyone! I just updated the site with a weath…

Hey everyone! I just updated the site with a weather magnet, enjoy! (If you don't live in Anderson, just type in your zip).

I've been really busy lately with work, school, and BCM.
Work:

  1. CYT performed Pocahontas in Henderson Auditorium a few weeks ago. I ran sound and put in some long hours that resulted in a few late night study sessions, but I enjoyed the experience.

  2. September 27th, Shane & Shane performed in Henderson. They brought in their own sound tech :(, so I was house manager instead.

  3. October 18, The U.S. Air Force Heritage of America Band (They need to use an acronym), held a concert in Henderson. I was stage manager.

School:

Too much to list.... I have a 7 page paper due tomorrow comparing and contrasting Walter Brueggemann's "Theology of the Old Testament" to Elie Wiesel's "The Trial of God."

BCM:

BCM is going to be in Merritt Theatre tonight at 9:30 to allow those coming to open house to visit. We are expecting a big crowd. God is going to do something awesome tonight!

That's all for now. Peace.

Just stumbled upon this site that rewrote Mark 4:3…

Just stumbled upon this site that rewrote Mark 4:35-41 for sound techs. Hilarious!
King James Version:
"And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?"

Sound Tech Version:
"And the same Sunday when the evening service was come, he saith unto them, Let us mix over unto the louder side. And when they had sent away the multitude of musicians, they took him even as he was on the mixer. And there were also with him other little sub-mixers. And there arose a great storm of feedback, and the sound waves beat into their ears so that their heads were now full. And he was in the hinder part of the mixing booth, asleep on a rack case: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master-mixer, carest thou not that our hearing perish? And he arose, and rebuked the feedback, and said unto the speaker, Peace, be still. And the feedback ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no feedback skills? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of sound-man is this, that even the feedback and the speakers obey him?"

Sunday at NewSpring was amazing. Total attendance…

Sunday at NewSpring was amazing. Total attendance was 8,289, some people even had to sit in the atrium, (I think it's time for another building). What's more amazing is that 214 people received Christ! So awesome. I think Perry sums it up best:
"This is amazing…and once again…stop and think about this–we are in Anderson, SC…this is not some big booming metropolis–its Anderson! Why is this happening here? It’s because I believe God wanted to do a work in a place that was so incredible and unbelievable that only HE could get the glory for it all."

So, my weekend was awesome... lets hope it stays this way.
